The largest group of animal rights activists entered the world of virtual reality games with a simulator that allows users to take the role of a farmed chicken that is going to go to the slaughterhouse.

PETA presented the college game at Berkeley and Pasadena City College, with the idea that if you are put in the shoes of a chicken for a few minutes, then you will pass the desire to eat it.
To my knowledge it is the first time that PETA enters the realm of virtual reality, although a few years ago has developed a virtual dissection of a frog game for high school students.
Also note that a few months ago an assistant professor at Iowa State University have invented "Second Livestock", a virtual world for chickens: the idea was to convince the birds to be living in a beautiful pasture in the open air rather than in the cage of a farm, thanks to the virtual reality glasses.
