A reading of the proposal to ban cars, petrol or diesel, the Netherlands, as you resize the scope of novelty, as happens in the country of tulips. A country mythical and unattainable, where you go by bike even below zero and where you care liberality, health and beauty.

These places in northern Europe (Norway and Denmark discussed similar laws) almost do not text, normal for us, because it always popping up in the top of the class - but boring - when it comes to good news. True that India too is talking about something like that, but we say that we have a blind trust that he will do so, as well as explain the local media. The Northern Europe, however, is always right choices and reasoned, which generally apply on time. Also because it suits them: the three Nordic countries want it to promote their market for electric cars.

The idea has already had a first approval in Parliament, but the path is extremely long for a decision - looks a bit '- instead arouses enormous concern in the country also spinels. Underpinning the project is the left - along with greens, liberals and Christian Union - while the right is carrying out strict opposition. Of course, the environmental consciousness of a Dutch is a developed consciousness, more than ours, but do not think that cars are not a commodity there too. Despite the postcards you insist on portraying only bike covered with flowers and kissed by the sun, in the Netherlands, the percentage of those who travel by bike as a primary means of transportation is stuck at 31%. It means that most of the population also uses the car, and to change it by force is said to have all this desire. But governments - here - really seem to act for the common good: incentivize electric exempting them from taxes buy cars, and even legislate against the common feeling. Moreover democracy must assume that the government can do better citizens, being that their work: decide for the best. It follows therefore that such decisions must sometimes be contrary to popular opinions.

To look good, even in the Dutch capital, the air is not as clean as we can imagine, so much so that, to educate people to reduce the use of motor vehicles, Amsterdam has recently invented cool gadgets citizens who awards you wi -fi if you lower the planes pollutants. To really work, however, data in hand, was the recent transition from conventional cars to electric ones, strongly encouraged precisely by the government, before becoming (we are sure you will) the only legal possibility.

So if the Netherlands and generally the Northern Europe is pure vanguard in environmental issue, it is not because it is made up of people better than Italian, so to speak, but because he had (very interesting history of the Dutch bike) and has the good fortune to enjoy a political class that spreads the right culture and continues to anticipate public opinion forcing the right to allow the country to keep its undeniable advantages: charitable gifts, health and beauty.
