Summary: those who succeed in real life is successful on the app and vice versa for those with no success.

Complete Teseto:
Tinder is a particularly well-known by all those young people who at least once in their life they wanted to meet a new partner (occasional or less), remaining comfortably at home.
Advertising message The app is very simple: first you need to register via your Facebook or Instagram account, secondly you need to upload the best photos and finally indicate the gender and age of the desired future partners.
Once registered, Tinder will be able to identify all the people who, a few kilometers away, match the search criteria entered by showing their pictures: swipe left if the photo is to your liking, or to the right if it is not.
Only when both the persons concerned have expressed a positive opinion on the other (called match) the application will start a private conversation.
Tinder has always been considered, mostly, a useful application to find casual sexual encounters (Sevi et al., 2018), rather than to search for a long-term partner.
However, some recent studies have shown that it is not always the case (eg., LeFebvre, 2017): in fact, some users claimed to seek, through Tinder, something more than just a one night stand relationship (Timmerman & Courtois, 2018).
Although the app has intrigued several authors in recent years, no study has investigated the fact that Tinder actually help people find occasional or long-term partners, and it is precisely from this question that this research was developed (Grntvedt et al ., 2019).
Advertising message has been taken into account sample of 283 students of the humanities, recruited from a campus in Trondheim in Norway.
Each of them was asked how long were using Tinder, how many meetings they had before with how many casual partners they could find and how many they could begin a long-term relationship.
The results showed that, contrary to expectations, only a limited number of participants were able to find a casual sexual partners through Tinder.
Among those who claimed to have little success in finding casual partners in the 'real world' (and thus use any app of meetings), Tinder has not proven able to reverse this trend: the application has therefore increased the number of meetings for users.
Similarly, those who had always been successful in the traditional courtship, was also benefited by using Tinder.
Even for those who used the app in order to find long-term partners Tinder showed better results.
In conclusion, this study seems to dispel the myth that Tinder is a more useful way and quick to find a partner over more traditional methods: In fact, despite the limitations of the study, including a low diversification of the sample is possible to cite, results shows that among users of Tinder only 2 out of 10 people manage to find an occasional or long-term partners through the application.
