Summary: Specifically, the best practices suggested for optimization would refer to a length of at least 300 words for the texts of a Web page and a keyword density not exceeding 2%.

Google recently decided to launch its first official SEO certification approved by the American Association of Advertising Agencies and the American Advertising Federation (AAF).
The goal is to help job seekers, and companies looking for professionals in the sector, to acquire the skills necessary to create successful online businesses.
But what topics are covered during the certification process?
Among the main recommendations related to SEO there would also be indications relating to the minimum length of the contents and the density of the keywords (keyword density), two ranking factors that over time have ended up being underestimated if not even considered useless.
Specifically, in the good practices suggested for optimization, reference would have been made to a length of at least 300 words for the texts of a Web page and a keyword density not exceeding 2%.
The course material also talked about the need to produce a high volume of high quality content to facilitate positioning in the SERP (Search Engine Results Page).
Similarly, keyword density should be kept below 2%, so given the text of a web page the amount of target keywords present should be equal to or less than 2% of the number of words as a whole.
These recommendations, subsequently removed, would not have been accepted in the same way by all the exponents of Google, starting with Danny Sullivan of the search division of Mountain View, according to which the indications relating to the number of words and the density of keywords could be ignored.
At this point we must wait for greater clarity regarding these two ranking factors (or supposedly so) because it would seem that even within Google (and even less within the SEO community) there would be an agreed position on this matter.
When in doubt, the content of this article (slightly) longer than the 300 "recommended" words.
