The "vantablack", created by the British company Surrey Nanosystems, it is so dark that the human eye can not understand what is seeing. The material was made of aluminum foil which, when rubbed, leaves a texture similar to a miniature valley with hills and peaks.

In areas covered by vantablack, where we expected to see the ripples, however, was "all black, like a hole, as if there were nothing," says Ben Jensen, Technical Director of the company.

A development might seem rather pointless, but it seems that the material will improve the efficiency of astronomical cameras, telescopes and infrared scanning systems.
